GSMA Roamfest
Quoted as "one of the most useful events ever attended" - the GSMA Roamfest provides a unique platform that enables Operators to meet, discuss and reach bilateral agreements for GSM, GPRS, WLAN, SMS and MMS interworking and 3GSM roaming. With 75% of Roamfest delegates engaging in ten or more meetings at each event, Roamfest provides an invaluable and unique one-stop-shop, to fast-track GSM roaming agreements.
Operator representatives attending Roamfest will:
- Overcome language and communication barriers by meeting colleagues face-to-face
- Meet a focused group of colleagues with one common purpose - to fast-track roaming agreements
- Save valuable time and effort by negotiating and signing multiple agreements during this valuable event
Now in its seventh year, Roamfest is a major and established event attracting roaming delegates from around the GSM global community. The last Roamfest in Vienna attracted over 250 operators representing over 70 countries. Roamfest is held on an average of 3 times year and is often held alongside BARG meetings throughout the world.
The Roamfest begins with a short introduction to delegates outlining the 'rules & regulations' of participation in the Roamfest. There are three speakers - GSMA Roaming Expert, Chair of the BARG Agreements Sub-group, and Roamfest Sponsor representative. Following the introduction, delegates are able to access the Roamfest rooms to commence meetings/negotiations.
GSMA Hubfest
Increasingly, today's customers expect their mobile services to work just as well while roaming as they do on their home network. To meet their customers' expectations, many operators today have to maintain hundreds of separate bilateral roaming agreements. Roaming Hubbing enables operators to more easily extend the reach of roaming services by establishing roaming agreements with other operators through one or more hubs. This is a significant improvement on the current approach where operators have to establish one-to-one bilateral connections with every roaming partner.
Benefits Gained by Operators:
- Establish roaming agreements with other operators through hubs
- Save valuable time and effort
- Operational and budget efficiencies
- Ability to offer a wider range of services
- More consistent user experience for customers
Hubfest is a new opportunity developed by GSMA for Operators to meet and sign agreements with potential hub partners.
