As well as closing the mobile phone gender gap, the GSMA mWomen Programme focusses on bringing life-changing services to women at scale via the mobile channel. We believe that scale is vital for the long term sustainability of any initiative targeting the BOP women’s segment. It’s also vital to ensure that the most women possible can benefit from these services. An example of the need for scale across the gender and ICT space as a whole is discussed in this video from the World Bank, which focuses on gender training on ICT through the project eRwanda and the need to scale up to 600,000 the training that was made for 700.
