Given the importance of mobile broadband as a driver for growth and development, the GSMA is planning a closed-door workshop to discuss opportunities for making mobile broadband connectivity in Iraq a reality.
The Iraq Mobile Broadband Workshop – “Spectrum, Licensing, and Liberalization to Support Mobile Broadband Growth” is provisionally planned to take place on 30th May in Dubai and will be presented in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Qualcomm, and Ericsson. We are aiming to bring together stakeholders from the Communications and Media Commission of Iraq, Ministry of Communications, Iraqi Parliament, and the mobile industry. The workshop will include presentations, case studies and interactive discussions led by thought leaders from the GSMA, ITU and participating companies from the wider mobile ecosystem. In hosting this unique event, we hope to facilitate an open dialogue with the government as we work together to bring the enabling power of mobile broadband to Iraqi citizens.
