Geneva: The consensus achieved by the International Telecommunication Union at the World Radiocommunication Conference in Geneva is an important step towards closing the digital divide between those with access to broadband and those without.
The conference has agreed to identify a chunk of UHF spectrum for mobile broadband services, and a chunk of spectrum in the higher frequency bands to create the capacity required for the next generation of advanced mobile services. Read more

Our objective at WRC-07 is the allocation of harmonised spectrum in the UHF band.
We believe that there is sufficient spectrum to ensure that at least 2 x 40 MHz of paired spectrum can be made available, and that this will provide better coverage and more capacity. Read the full position
During the WRC-07 the GSMA will be running a programme of activities to communicate our position to conference delegates.
A dedicated GSMA meeting space has been allocated within the CCV building on the ITU campus, and this will act as a central hub for meetings, presentations, technical information and mobile broadband technology demonstrations throughout the four weeks of the conference.
